Terms and conditions

1. Price figures on this site. Dollar amounts on our cost pages are planning ranges for central Ohio basements. They are there to help you budget and bind nobody. The price that counts is the itemized written estimate handed to you after the inspection.

2. When an estimate becomes an agreement. A written estimate stays open for the period printed on it, normally 30 days. It turns into an agreement only once you sign or approve it in writing.

3. Who performs the work. Waterproofing booked here is carried out by registered, insured independent crews. Ohio has no state waterproofing license. Plumbing, electrical and HVAC tasks inside a job are licensed trades in Ohio and are carried out by licensed contractors.

4. Permits. Where the City of Columbus Department of Building and Zoning Services, the Franklin County building department or another local office requires a permit for the work, we apply for it, and its fee appears as a separate line. That office's rules and inspections govern.

5. Payment. Small repairs are paid when finished. Larger jobs follow the schedule written on the estimate. Financing, where offered, comes from a third-party lender on that lender's terms.

6. Warranties. The only warranty that applies is the one printed on the signed agreement for your job, plus any manufacturer terms on installed equipment such as pumps.

7. Information, not advice. Guides on this site describe basement water in general. They do not assess your foundation, give an engineering opinion, decide a permit question or interpret an insurance policy.

8. Changes. Codes, fees and office procedures change. The current documents from the relevant city, county and state offices take precedence over anything written here.
