Basement waterproofing in Worthington

Historic foundations

The oldest houses near the village green have stone or brick foundations laid long before drain tile was standard. Water comes through the mortar joints, the floor is sometimes thin or uneven, and ceilings can be low. Work in these basements is careful and slower: we keep disturbance to the old masonry to a minimum and use drainage and membrane that suit an irregular wall.

Mid-century and later homes

Beyond the historic core, Worthington's postwar neighborhoods have block and poured basements with the familiar central Ohio problems: cracks, worn sumps and seepage at the floor joint after long rains.

A typical Worthington inspection covers

1. Where water enters, traced with moisture readings.
2. The condition of the mortar and the floor.
3. Downspouts, grade and window wells.
4. Whether interior drainage, spot repair or exterior work fits the house.
